Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail, Mangalore Catechism Day Inauguration for the year 2018-2019
By the Grace of God we were able to resume the Catechism classes on Sunday 10.06.2018.
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these Matthew 19:14
Children were very happy to attend the catechism classes . The Parents have send their children with good support and enthusiasm to learn the Word of God. After the catechism class the inauguration of the catechism for the current year was organised at 9.15 AM during children Mass. The Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mr. Edward Coelho lead the Mass Procession with the Holy Cross along with Alter Boys with Tu-ripple and incense Boat followed by four Students, two Parents, and all the catechism Teachers. Mother Marys Statue was held by Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares, Resident Parish Priest and the Holy Bible was held by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Austin Peter Peres. After the hymn Mother Mary Statue was honoured. Fr, Austin passed the Holy Bible to the Parents and Parents in turn passed to Teachers and Teachers then passed on to the Students. The Students honourably placed the Holy Bible on the Altar. Fr. Austin honoured the Holy Bible and Mother Mary with garlands and incense. All the participants in the procession honoured Mother Mary and Holy Bible with Roses. Fr. Gratian Alvares lead the Eucharistic Celebration
The Co-ordinator and all the Catechism Teachers took oath during the Mass for fulfilling the commitment on teaching Catholic faith in catechism to the children of Derabail Parish. The liturgy was conducted by the Teachers. The children's choir added to the solemnity of the Holy Mass.
